From genocide to 58 smiling, loving and welcoming children

12/13/15 – Day 1:  9:45AM – Kigali Genocide Museum.

Benevolence - it exists. This memorial and the way the Rwanda people have unified, forgiven, healed and prospered is a testament to our highest self - and the power of benevolence. May we never, ever, ever turn a cheek again to those in need.
Benevolence – it exists. This memorial and the truths and stories it tells shows us that benevolence can and does exist – even in the face of such horrifying tragedies.    The way the Rwanda people have unified, forgiven, healed and prospered is a testament to our highest self – and the power of benevolence. May we never, ever, ever turn a cheek again to those in need.  May we find the place in ourself that is benevolent, resilient and alive with hope.

3:30 – A guided walk through a local village with Theo – who started his business 5 years ago to create jobs, help local people become self-sustaining and give the next generation a chance.  Noble, entrepreneurial, generous and a big kid himself…this tour help provide clothing, education and means for local villagers.

4:45 PM – by the end, we had 58 kids with us – happy just to be.  skipping, strolling, giggling and playing.  Happy JUST TO BE.

Happy just to be...
